Two children begin collecting what they love best—Anand collects marbles, his sister Asha collects candy. Soon Anand isn’t content and he convinces his sister to trade. Struggling with wanting both marbles and candy, Anand hides his best marbles and deceives his sister. But having cheated his sister, he wonders if Asha has also deceived him.

The Broken Promise is the second in a series of stories Ravi Zacharias has written for children to stir the imagination for nobler thoughts. Several themes intertwine to create an intriguing modern tale about trusting God and loving Him above all else. Through these stories, Ravi hopes that children may hear the tender voice of their heavenly Father. The book features heartrending illustrations by Lad Odell.
